COURSE DESCRIPTION

This module allows the practitioner to review the respiratory system and demonstrate the method of suctioning. While reviewing the system, practitioners will be able to identify their role when assessing the need for suctioning. Additionally the practitioner will be able to follow procedural steps in oral, nasal & trach suctioning of a patient. In the end, as a class we will discuss the potential complications of suctioning. This module offers the learners to develop skills in assessing the health of a client. Health history, physical assessment skills, focused health assessments and reporting of assessment. Prerequisites: practicing RN, RPN/ LPN AUDIENCE: GENERAL

Medication Management: GEN 002

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Medication Management offers practicing health care providers to integrate and apply knowledge of medication administration into practice. Health care practitioners are required to be current with how the constantly changing medication innovations, overlapping and evolving scopes of practice and the diverse settings where care is provided impact medication management systems and their roles. This module explores the components of medication management including medication reconciliation, ordering/prescribing, dispensing and delivering, preparing and administering, patient teaching, monitoring, evaluating, and documentation. Safety considerations will be discussed throughout the course with indications for high error prone areas in each component of the system.

Essentials of Wound care: RP001

COURSE DESCRIPTION

In this module, practitioners will identify the risk factors for pressure ulcer development, review the categories of pressure ulcer, discuss factors affecting skin integrity and wound healing and demonstrate the procedural steps in performing wound care. In the end, practitioners will be able to identify the different types of dressing for each wound classification and will develop an understanding of which dressing to be used based on the type of wound.

Essentials of Urinary Catheter care: RP002

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This module includes, the revision of aseptic techniques, catheter selection, complications of urinary catheterization, and indications for the types of catheters. In the end, the practitioner will be able to practice insertion of catheter on both a male or female module.
